February's done!

Thank goodness February is gone it was way too hot, I'm not expecting it to cool down yet just not be over 40c. Husband dear is melting in the humidity in Wollongong through the week so he's doing it tough too.

Chookshed Challenge for February is done and I am so happy with it, I can't wait for it to be quilted and then it's off to a friend as a thank you for letting us stay at her place whenever we go to Wollongong and hubby live there throught the week.

Livvy is inspecting my work.

CHOOKSHED CHALLENGE FOR MARCH IS 4, which for me is a panel quilt, I have 3 tops to quilt that are are from panels and I have another panel to make a quilt top with I haven't decided yet which I will concentrate on.

Some pics below a lovely sunrise and the pineapples are growing nicely, there are 3 now. My SAHRR quilt top has slowed, the next border is ready I have been finishing some bindings getting things ready for the Gunnedah Show next month. Finished is an orange scrap quilt and My Kinship Fusion quilt which is 1 block a day for 100 days.

The local fabric shop is closing and there is a closing sale, I may have spent a couple of months fabric budget oh well it will get used, there is a few quilt backs in the pile of loveliness.

Stars Galore

Well we are certainly under lots of stars at Baradine. There are so many like Janis said.

Then there are famous Stars like the -

Hollywood walk of fame stars

Star of Bethlehem

The Star of David

Twinkle

Betelgeuse

The Milky Way

Ooh then there are animals like

Star fish

Don’t even start on movies

So many ideas!111

Starry Starry Night

I was reading in the notes for this year's Scrub Stitchin' that the theme for the special dinner is:

STARS

That got me thinking...... I know, it hurts......

There are so many possibilities with this theme.

Patchwork stars.

Rock Stars

Star Signs

Starry Eyes

The Milky Way

What other ideas can you come up with?  Don't tell.  Keep it a surprise for the night.

May!!!!!!

Yes it's May and the middle of the month. My wifi has been down so my computer has had no internet, the printer wouldn't work and I had to bite the bullet and call the tech guy in Wollongong, who is a bit arrogant which is why I put it off for so long, anywho after him fiddling wioth the system we're back!

A lot has happened since the last blog post, I went to Scrub Stitching, that was a great weekend and I met so many lovely people and got so much sewing and quilting done. The Magpie bag was my gift in the make it, bake it, fake it draw. Then the printed bag with all our names on it. Oh and the goody bag! I made a project bag from a Kmart tea towel with koalas on it, I was finishing it the day before leaving home and I realised I had the koalas upside down so I ripped off the binding and re did it, I was hoping that one of the overseas visitors would get it and Deana did, so I was happy.

Above is the group photo and also the chookshed stitchers. I got the quilting finished on Grant's quilt, it just needs the sashing and binding done. I assembled my Moda Love quilt as well.

Then a few days after I got back we got a kitten! this is Livvy, Dave didn't want a cat but he has taken responsibility for feeding her, hence the lamb shank in her bowl.

Then I put two quilts in the Gunnedah Show and got Firsts for both I was pleased and surprised. I got my Churn Dash quilt quilted by Jackson of House of Jackson, Chooky picked it up and dropped it off for me I just need to bind it. I had better get off to work so I can pay for more quilting.

We did a little sight seeing on the way home.........
Once home we had some extras arrive and enjoyed a few drinks.........
It's been a few pretty cold days for this time of the year so nice to enjoy the late sun on a milder day.......
A visit to the Chookshed to find some more bits of sewing to pack.........
Finally the day for Scrub Stitchin' 2023 arrived.........
Finally  set up....... Goody bags out.......
"The Crafters Cottage" all set up..... Thanks heaps to Deb for dropping some of her shop out to us......
OMG it was dangerous and it's only day 1.........
We turned on a pretty sunset just no kangaroos grazing for the girls to see......

Finally time for dinner and we took over the pub..... We were going to be out the back in the beer garden but it was a bit fresh so Sue set extra tables in the bar for us.........
The only thing the boys are allowed too..........dinner at the pub.......

Then it was back to the cabins and bed for some and late night sewing for others........
Ok now to enjoy day two......... Might achieve a bit more sewing?
